Q: trying to find value of photo collection. motel brochure & postcard pictures from over 48 years. 35000 images?
Company started in 1958. All images are in transparency form. 1958 – 1968 all are 4 x 5’s. 1969 – 1975 they are 2 1/4 x 3 1/4. 1976 – 2001 they are 35mm. After 2002 all are digital. We produce brochures and postcards for Motels, Nursing Homes, Hospitals and car dealerships.
If it needs to be exhibited, who would I contact?

A: You can not.

It must be exhibited and public appeal assessed before a value can be ascribed

Q: Price of a 2006-08 jeep grand cherokee laredo?
Im 16 and im planning on getting a job and buying a car or a SUV
im not trying to buy anything over 35000 since it would be wayy to expensive
specially on a teenagers budget
i want to get it in payments (have parents or sister get it out dealership) and i make the payments
i was wondering what the average estimated price would be for a nice jeep grand cherokee in good condition with a decent mileage
i was also wondering if a range rover sport (not new) would be nice
also what would do you estimate the monthly payments to be?
I was planning on a usedish mercedes but 1025$ a month is way to much
and i dont think i want to work and waste all my check on a car
thanks!

A: You should check current advertisements for similar vehicles on web sites like cars.com or autotrader.com. You can also check reference pricing through one of the many available sites that provide such a service like kbb.com or nadaguides.com.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Q: Renault Laguna 2005 2.0 Dynamique?
Thinking of buying this model in the estate. advice welcomed on any faults this car may have or what models to avoid ( Tourer-Expression-Sport ).also its benefits over other cars of this size. I like the design, but do not know about them, looking at one with 35000 miles on the clock. How good are the engines and reliability. any help would be appreciated from owners, mechanics, etc Thanking you in advance for your time and help .
Thanks for your replys a great help

A: They suffer from various problems, including rear axle mounting bushes, lower suspension ball joints, front suspension collapsing due to front springs breaking, 6 speed manual gearbox bearings failing, climate control heater panel illumination failure, key cards packing up and tyre pressure monitor system faults..just to name a few ! Other than that the engines are good mechanically !

Q: over mileage on a leased car?
My sister leased a car for her bf, last year for 10,000miles per year. Her bf got a traveling salesman job and now the mileage is 35000. what is the best thing to do. the bf got a new car. and she is now stuck with a car she does not even want or like

A: Well, she should not have leased a car for anyone else but now that she has there is really not much she can do about it. Her only choices are to leave it sit and pay for it until the lease is up since the miles are already used or she can keep driving the car and just buy it out at the end of the lease term. If she keeps putting miles on it and then turns it in she will have to pay for any mileage over the limit, usually around $0.25 per mile.

Q: Out of control high student loans – how do I deal? not just today but in 25 years?
Between my husband and I – are student loans are 6 figures. We can’t find get work which gives us an income – combined of over 35000 total (before taxes) this is going on for almost a year now…. After we our rent, phone bills, and a car payment, insurance, etc. — we are lucky to have enough money to have any money to do anything with — let alone buy clothes, shampoo or anything else. As we flounder around with crappy jobs on our resume, now we wonder — how will we *ever* catch up?

Since we make over 20,000 together we do not qualify for a hardship deferment. Both of us have loans in forebearance — acruing interest. At this rate — what will we do? How do we cope? What was the point of liberal arts educations for poor people to “get ahead” when this is what we have to look forward to???????????

Generation X — what a joke. I would have been better off working at mcDonalds by now than going to college. seriously.

I have to force myself not to think about it, or else I wonder what the point of going on is….where do I turn for any peace on this?

A: Thats exactly why i held off going to school… you are not guarenteed an income afterward, and im not putting myself in imediate debt right out of highschool. Now im making great money, and working myself up… putting some aside each month for a futre school fund, if i ever do find a reason to go.

Its really tough, just pay the min balance each month that you can, and don’t worry about actually paying it of in full…. debt doesnt actually hurt you unless you dont pay it!

Q: Why can’t the Cincinnati Reds sell out a baseball game?
We are a good team….even when we play a good team…people still don’t really show up. They sold like 38,000 in Detriot vs Kansas City a couple of weeks back, they didn’t give anything away.
We have a bobblehead night and only manage 30,000 at the most.
This is pathetic. For years we have complainedx about not having agood team and now that we do….No one shows up
We dont even get over 33,000 on Saturday nights.
What’s up with town
Maybe they should have sold the team

DONT YOU DARE GIVE ME THAT ITs TOO EXPENSIVE CRAP
THESE PEOPLE SAYING THIS ARE THE ONES DRIVING 35000 dollar cars and living in 300,000 homes…….give that crap a rest!!!!!!
What’s up Cinci!

A: Actually, I’ll blame it on economic reasons. I see that you don’t want to hear it, but not everybody that goes to the game drives a nice car and has an expensive house.

The high cost of things we need every day like gasoline and natural gas, electricity, etc. have not allowed Americans to keep more of their spending money than they have in the past.

This means people have less money to vacation, eat out, or just catch a ball game.

Not that we have a good team, but we struggle to bring out 25,000 in Baltimore. We have always been supporters of our Orioles, but in the past few years, attendance has dropped significantly.

Q: Any suggestions!!!!!!!!!!! i need help please….?
I post my question in this section to see if i can get more answers.?

I’m 20 years old with a $2300 a month + bonuses every 3 months ($900 minimum). I was at coral spring automall yesterday and they told me that my credit was 640 but i’m really young. My parents were financing a CRV for three years until my dad got in a crash. i think the bank is paying the car off but we are going to have to buy another one. Since my parents just got a mortgage about a year ago so their credit went down at the point where they can’t even get aproved by any bank to even finance a car. Now we have to buy 3 cars by next week. So the finace guy over there told me that if i can get a loan under my name from credit union for about $14000 for a 2007 charger with 27000 miles, he will get me another loan at %6 APR as a college student that will graduate within the next 6 moths.Do you think i will be approved for that loan????.By the way they they already gave me final prices on the cars. ((2007 charger with 27000 miles for $13000 including a $3300trade that i took over there), $14000 fr a 2005 Nissan Morano with 28000 miles and $7000 for a honda accord. today, i was think about apply for a $35000 loan for school and make the car payments through that loan. that way, i will wouldn’t have to pay so much monthly. by the way, i have enough scholarships to continue my studies so i don’t need the loan. please comments…suggestions, ideas, anything that you can say after reading this. I’m waiting for some good help…Thanks a lot people.!!!!
1 hour ago – 3 days left to answer.

A: I’m not sure what your primary question is, so I’ll offer these random thoughts:

The car dealerships need to make sales sales sales. There are happy to get you to “overbuy” if they can. They are trying to unload cars — not necessarily get you the best car for your situation.

The finance guy will try to get you to think he is your friend, but you are just a number to him. Especially if it is a big dealership.

I would stay away from a car that is less than 2 years old that has 27,000 miles.

Don’t fall into the trap of “not having to pay so much monthly.” The tradeoff is you stay in debt for a MUCH longer time. You will have expenses later, so pay as you go as much as you can, or you’ll fall behind fast.

Q: Help!! this is very interesting check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need your help guys….?
I’m 20 years old with a $2300 a month + bonuses every 3 months ($900 minimum).
A: If you can get a student loan to cover all three cars, DO IT! Student loan APRs are much lower than bank rates. And you don’t need the money for school. You have a lot longer term to pay them off so the payments will be more affordable. You can divide them accordingly with your parents.

I know of a couple that wanted to take a trip to Greece for a wedding. If they would’ve borrowed against their 401k or CD accounts, it would have cost them 6% to 8% APR. The wife took out a student loan for the amount at 3% APR. Quite a savings.

A: You could do that.

In the fine print of the student loan you promise not to use it to buy a car, but maybe they won’t check on you. The Charger is priced too high because they know you are not experienced with getting credit and buying cars. A brand new Charger 2008 is less than $27,000. You are young and you get to make lots of mistakes. You will smile when you are old like me..

Q: Any body has a suggestion?? I’m 20 years old and i’m almost done with my AA. in accounting.?
I’m 20 years old with a $2300 a month + bonuses every 3 months ($900 minimum). I was at coral spring automall yesterday and they told me that my credit was 640 but i’m really young.
A: This sounds like a bad idea on so many levels. I really can’t imagine you’ll get financed for three cars worth $34000 with sub-par credit and low income. One will be tough. I really hope your parents are not considering this half-baked plan of yours.

Maybe you could save the pricey cars for when everyone’s credit is better, you’re out of school, income is up, and you can do this without defrauding the bank. This will not end well, and as an accounting student, you should know better.

Y’all need some $5-$8k cars.

I can’t help but question just how much scholarship money you could have raked in, considering you can’t spell “scholarship”…uh…on a site that spell-checks for you.

Q: Which car shall I replace my M3 CSL with?
It needs to be Rear Wheel Drive and powerful – over 300HP

It needs to be relatively smart or discrete.

It should be relatively practical. For example able to carry 2 or preferably 4 people with luggage on a holiday trip.

I would prefer the car not to be turbo charged.

I’m happy to buy second hand, but do not want a car older than 3 or 4 years old, similarly it should have relatively low mileage – less than 35000 miles.

I do not want to spend more than £40000

A: In Russia car is like spaceship http://ladasinwest.blogspot.com/2009/07/under-joint-venture-with-g.html

Q: Should I buy a new car for college?
I just turned 18 a week ago. I am really good at math and finance. I have managed to save up a load of cash from an online business, and I’m going to work with my grandpa in a nuclear plant this summer making over $30 an hour. I have set aside $20000 for college, and I would like to purchase a car for under $35000 if possible. I want a sports car – something that would be cool, and fast for a college student! My gf has a saturn sky! It is totally sweet!!! I was thinking about getting one of those. She let me drive it last night when we went to prom! I am hooked and want one! That car has some awesome performance! So what do yall suggest?? Please don’t be mean in your response! THANX!!!
I think some people are misunderstanding my question. I am stating that i have enough money to pay for my college, and buy a new car in cash as long as the car is under $35000. i was wondering if the saturn sky is the perfect car!?!?! Is there another car that I could get for around the same price that would be better???

A: Mazda Miata

it’s not a chick car, it’s fun to drive and handles good.

saturn sky is unreliable

if you want a convertible
look to BMW3 series

Honda Civic Si (coupe)21,745
Scion tC17,620
Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport23,275

Q: GIRL TROUBLE ABOUT a CAR?
I am about to spend $35000 on a car. My current girlfriend says that the car I want is too fast and dangerous.
However the hottest girl in college has found out about my “investment” and she has just come over to me and gave me her number (she lives like 3 doors down from me).

I really want her but I have been going out with my current girlfriend for almost 3 years. and I have never dumped a girl before it was always me who was being dumped.

What do I do!!!!!

A: Hmmm..This is more than a car trouble it’s with the relationship. It seems that the hottest girl is a kind of slut.(don’t tell her). It is clear that she likes you for your investment only. She’s trying to charm you! I know that this hot girl KNOWS PERFECTLY WELL that you have a girlfriend. She’s just gonna use and leave you!!!That slut gave you her number to get you. Don’t let her. Don’t call her or ignore her calls and messages. Don’t let her get to you. You tell her straight that you can treat her to lunch with that investment and give her a ride with your new car. Just make sure your girlfriend knows about it or do those with your girlfriend. She’ll be able to stop the girl from charming you if it’s needed. Never go out alone with the hot girl, always be with your girlfriend. If the hot girl tries to kiss or hug you, slap her. A slap is what she needs. Or you can push her away. But if the hot girl keeps bugging you, I think you’re gonna need the help of your girlfriend. Make your girlfriend tell her to leave you two alone and to get a life. Make her tell that hot girl that she is hot but has a cold heart. Make your girlfriend tell her everything that can make that hot girl leave you alone. And I don’t think this hot girl is totally hot. She’s a slut and she wants to get what she wants even if it’s not right. STAY AWAY FROM THIS “HOT” GIRL if possible. Do you really want a girlfriend who just likes for your stuff? Your current girlfriend seems like a nice girl but it doesn’t mean that you have to follow her advice on not buying it. Make her accept your decision on buying it. But, your girlfriend has a point. 35000 is a big amount. Try choosing a car that you and your girlfriend both likes. Don’t dump your girlfriend. Forget about that hot girl. Stay faithful and loyal to your girlfriend. 3 years is a record dude. It really hurts when you just dump your girlfriend for that slutty hot chick..After all you’ve been through, you just cant dump your girlfriend.. Be careful on what you do. DON’T DUMP HER. DON’T EVER DUMP YOUR GIRLFRIEND….

Q: Im seriously contemplating divorce.?
I have been married for 3 years.
My husband is 18 years older than me. Im 21.
That has nothing to do with it, I was just throwing that out there.
A few weeks ago, we had an argument over money.
We were coming home from the grocery store, as I was walking in the door(he was already inside) He pushed me and My hit the side of the door, I now it wasnt the smartest thing to do, but when he pushed me I had an automatic reflex to swing my purse up and hit him with it.
Then I ask him to leave an go to a friends house or a parents house, for the night and cool down, I was afraid he would do something to hurt me. (I own the house.)
He didnt want to leave so he called the cops,(later he said he only called the cops because he thought that would scare me into not making him leave.)
Well the cops came, and saw it as domestic violence. And in those situations apparently one of the spouses have to leave for the night. The cop asked my husband to leave and he refused. When he asked me if I had anywhere to go I said no. Because i dont. My husband keeps arguing with the cop. And then the cop arrested us both because my husband wouldnt leave ,and i had no where else to go.
I spent 28 hours in jail. And was on a $2500 bond. We have been to court afterwords and they just desmissed the case.
Ever since then , I have just been disgusted with him.
He is normally a nice guy.
I dont know what it is, I cant figure out if Im subconsciously not forgiving him for putting me in jail or what.
I just dont know.
It literally makes me sick when I m around him now.
And I dont know what to do. God doesnt allow divorces.
I had never been to jail before that, and dont plan to go back.
We dont have any kids.
I own (payed for) everything we have.
The house the car..ect..
He has 35000 in dept…I would have put his name jointly on everything , but I was afraid they would take it.
He has had 10 jobs in the last 4 years.
He is bad with money.
And Im very tired of having to be the one who holds everything together.
Im 21 , he is going to be 40 next month, you would think he would know how to do things better than I do.
So any advice?
Thanks.

A: Your right god doesnt believe in divorces.. BUT god also gave u both vows to stick by.. and when he chose to treat u this way he chose to break those marriage vows to you , breaching your marital vows that you both took.. so he already broke those vows. They didnt take you to jail based soley because one of u wouldnt leave, it was based on the fact that you both hit.. and when they couldnt get one of u to leave they chose to take both of u in.. if u hadnt retaliated by hitting him, he would of been the only one that had to leave.. and to tell u the truth.. u being stubborn basically didnt help the situation.. if u have as much money as u claim to have then u should have enough money to get a hotel room for a few days.. till things would of cooled off so u kinda brought it upon urself by hitting back and then being to stuborn to leave (not that u should of had to, but wouldnt it of been better then being arrested?)

Your very young, u have your whole life ahead of u, you dont need a man that is abusive to you.. im sure eventuatlly you will want to have children.. and the last thing u need is your children watching their mom get abused , because if this is tolerated , he will do it again..

Its either time to get counseling, or to move on.. because your marriage is at a stand still where your husband is probably feeling like less of a man cause he depends on your financially rather then the other way around, he is feeling his mortality at 40 , and well it seems hes resenting u.. and now taking it out on u.. so its time to either get this fixed or chalk it up to a bad choice and get out before kids are involved in this situation..

Q: wife texting coworker, am I wrong to think something going on?? long story!?
I have been married for 24 years to a good loving wife, she has high morals and keeps the house running in order with kids and family functions. is well liked by my family and such, a lot of interaction.we have a good sex life and thought a good Communication. I traveled a lot for the last 5 years and was away 3-4 days at a time.(work) we had cell phones and could talk when needed.she had texting on hers, but I did not as I did not want or need it.I keep things short and don’t like to talk on the phone. Now here is the problem! I was sleeping and had a dream, come to me, saying check her phone!! I never had any reason to do it before,NOTHING!!! So I got up the next morning and checked! I was shocked as there was 2 texts from the night before saying” we are over with!! why are you so mad!! I was SHOCKED!! So I went upstairs where she was in a deep sleep!! asked WTF!! WHATS GOING ON! She said they had a fight over paper work!! and that there friendship was over!! still half a sleep and realized what I was asking and said, she would never do anything like that to me!! so I went to work (1 shift me) (2 shift her).2 days later I got the phone records printed out and found out there was 300 to 700 texts a month(the last 3 i checked)! I flipped out and call the guy and meet him and both his wife and my wife and tell me what was going on??(with in a hour) he said nothing but work and small stuff chats) His wife was ok with it and said she texts her coworkers all the time.so I got home and looked on our computer and found 2 webs sites from where he went hunting 3 states away??? my wife said she just looked at them because he had pictures of him on them.?? (She did not express intrest when I hunted many years ago) my heart says nothing went on , but my head is playing games? I gave up a 100000 a year job because she did not want to move and leave her 35000 job. was it because of him? We have a 400,000 house with 4 cars 3 kids,a good family (vacations) all the texting was thru out the whole day and evening,, so there was not much room for anyhookups, and if texting why not be there? I have to say that I knew she text this guy, but all the time? She only text our kids once a day. she said she did not realize how much text was going on as she never had a printout bill.she changed phone numbers and carriers and said she was sorry it got that way. she does not have many friends and was a family person and that I trusted and never had anything before this to think about.I love her, but can not get this out of my head. This guy I have known(knew for 9 years) and never thought of him as being a threat. He is nothing to look at.(fat) the texting she said was going on for 2 plus years.did she need a friend or what! We aways talked, but the shift differance made it hard to go out regularly. what do you think?
she did take the texting off,and added the song I love you twice as much tommorrow as I did today for my ring.as for snooping, I never did it before as I never had any reason to. it came to me in a dream!!(believe it) the 100000 a year job was tough to give up, but I just bit my lip and was ready to try something new after 25 years

A: Wow, this is a lot….and there may be some connection between the two of them…just though the texting…its an all too easy to get caught up ins just like people who meet on line and never face to face but somehow this works…if meets some need they have without the physical commitment of a relationship, it safe…for them I guess. I think the best thing for the two of you is to talk constantly, for you to say how you feel, make a point of finding time with each other…having something special that you both can do together…movies, dinner, sports, bowling…what ever…you need to make sure that after 24 years she is still number one in you life and you lover her more than life itself…its easy to get into a pattern , rut, and loose sight of what is really imprtant in life…you only get once chance at life, there are no do’overs…you got one ticket for the ride and its up to you make it worth its while…If any thing…take the texting off both of your phones and make apoint to call and talk to each rather than texting….good luck! wes

Q: What is the sexiest best lookin SUV?
No American made SUVs or cheap imports like Toyota or Honda. I like the infiniti fx but ppl say it’s a womnes car for wives. I want somthin that looks good, foreign and can go mild offroading like hills and jumping curbs. My budget is under $35000 for a used one

A: Well, after ruling out American made, which includes Infiniti, Lexus, and Acura, Ford, GM, Dodge (all made in the US) and you ruled out Toyota and Honda…..you’re not down to a whole lot of options.

Good, foreign and can go anywhere: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_HxrFph1OPKo/Sh2TEyKScHI/AAAAAAAAAyk/FyckcahBXf4/s400/lamborghini-lm002-2.jpg

The Lamborghini LM002.

Or something like a mid 80’s Nissan Pathfinder:

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/3583/4081/21457040003_large.jpg

Of course, you did say sexiest and best looking. If you want to go offroad, sexiest and best looking don’t matter at all.

If you want looks, then it’s pretty much stupid to buy an SUV. It’s a UTILITY vehicle, not a symbol of status.

Q: How much for a cheap good used car in thailand, can i get one with 35000 baht ?

Q: How much for a cheap good used car in thailand, can i get one with 35000 baht ?

A: Hardly, if yes be very careful about the technical condition, cars are not maintained here at all and even if we ask our car technician at the shop where we bought the new car to check on this and this and to replace it we always get the answer ‘it’s not broken yet,mai pen rai(doesn’t matter), same experience with our big motorbikes, so you have to insist to get some service done.

If you want to buy a car in here look for an expat car service shop and ask them to help you or at least to have a look at the car before you buy it, be ready to pay around 100.000THB, that’s good enough for a 7-10year old sedan or a simple reliable pickup 5-6years old, if you come to Pattaya I can show you some repair shops with british, swiss or german owners, there is a lot of good 2nd hand cars in here.
We actually decided to buy a brand new one 2years ago as the price – warranty value for money comparison between very good condition 2nd hand and new cars was definately towards the new one.

Check out at:
http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t51848.html
there is a forum about 2nd hand cars in TH
Glad to help you out.

Q: £35000 : new or used car?
basically, i have come into some money which will allow me to by my first half-decent car. so, i could buy a new car i.e. a bmw 330 coupe, or i buy used and get something really special, i was thinking:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2005-Mercedes-Benz-CLS-55-AMG-KOMPRESSOR_W0QQitemZ120277018028QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120277018028&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A7%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

am i being a fool considering something like this given future tax rates and fuel prices. and of course, there’s the woman, she won’t like it one bit…

I have a 3 year old daughter, so sorry, no convertibles.

thanks for your advice,
chris.
edit:

sorry, that should say “buy”.
In addition, when i say no convertibles, i mean no 2 seaters.

A: Do be prepared for te cost of ownership of everything at that price.

The new stuff speaks for itself, but so far as ‘really special’ is concerned, the sky is the limit when you’re talking second hand.

You really have to go some to spend £35k on a second hand car.

At the end of the day, you need to balance up how you’re going to use it, where it’s going to be parked, how long you want to keep it, what views your have on practicality, what your natural leanings are, how you’re going to drive it, what you preconceptions are, what your views are on petrol costs, what sort of running costs you can afford and whether you reckon it suits your image.

I’d buy a 993 911 and spend the other £20k on racing saloon cars until the money ran out.

Q: Back out of a car loan? Used car?
I sold a car with 35000 miles, the buyer drove the car for 15 miles, and the head gasket blew.
Used cars from a private seller don’t come with a warranty. Can the buyer back out of his loan, and I would be stuck with a non-running car?

A: The lemon law is only for new cars. You are not responsible as the buyer should of had a car mechanic go over the car before buying it. However, this comes down to being honest. Did you know that the head gasket was going to blow? If you honestly can say you did not know and you have the maintenance statements to show that you have kept the car in good order, then I would not help the buyer fix the problem. If you did know there was something wrong with the car, ask them if they are willing to split the cost to fix the head gasket.

The buyer can not back out of a loan, but they can pay it back to the lender.

good luck.

Q: Looking for a used car (india-maharashtra-mumbai)?
Hi,i am looking for a used car of budget Rs 35000 – Rs 40000. make year after 2000. anyone with good deal around 200 kms please contact. technovishal @ yahoo.com and cell : 093233 46459.

thanks and regards

A: To get the used car under your budget you may visit the following link..

http://www.cardekho.com/usedCars

Q: Does a 2001 Jetta GLS, with 35000 miles and cost $9500 sound like a good deal?
I was just reading classifieds and I am looking for used, car any other suggestions (models etc?)

A: If you can afford that, it’s kinda reasonable. Love Jettas! Miles are truly low… So why are they selling? What’s wrong with it? Someone die in it? Nah! Sorry! But make sure you check it really well, test drive it twice, once in the a.m. and once while it’s dark…ask a lot of questions – latest repairs, what kind of gas and oil (synthetic is the only good choice) previously used in past. How old are the tires, any accidents…offer significantly less in full cash, ten grand is a big investment! Other brands to consider: Hondas are cheap (Preludes late 90s!!!!++++) and plentiful, easy to learn to fix and modify but easy to get stolen from you. Toyotas seem never to die, the older Celicas have a great shape and are fun to drive, supe up, you can even drop a small v-8 in if your mechanically inclined (and can afford the gas!). Older VWs are cool too, esp the Karman Ghias (little porshes!). Check the repos as well, you can get great deals there and at the police auctions you can find great steals on nice cars! Happy hunting! Just remember to save some cash to invest in securing your vehicle (kill switches help and get rid of keyholes with remote auto start/open/alarm kits! Tint the windows so your goodies are unseen!) P.S. Fords tend to be hard to break in to….the newer ones…Good Luck!

Q: Can I stop payment on a used car I purchased less than two days ago?
I purchased a 2001 Hyundai Accent that had 35000 miles on it for $4800. I knew it was overpriced but it was supposed to come with a 3month/4000 mi warranty on it so I thought it was worth it (later was told it was only 30 days even thought the web ab stated otherwise). When I was looking at the car originally I took it for a test run for about 10 mi. Then I brought my uncle out to go with me for a run and he said it should be fine. I purchased the car and on my way home it broke down exactly 29 miles from the dealer. I called him back and he said he would send a tow to get me. They said water got into the spark plug cylinder (????). I took it back home and it broke down again and it was idling @ 3000RPM. He picked it up, took it back to the dealership and said they put “new spark plugs” into it. I then came back, picked it up and now my tranny seems to be slipping and its still idling at 3000RPM. I’ve already filed a claim through the BBB and Attorney General. I also asked the manager after I was picked up by the dealer if I would be able to cancel my check and he said, “I still have the paperwork, so we’ll see if we fix it.” The next day I called and was told by someone else that “there’s no way I could give the car back.” I’m so upset about this because I thought I did my homework and now I’m gonna be in debt with no working vehicle.

A: I worked for a car dealership for 17 years, and the only thing that is covered under the 3 day rule, are things you buy over the phone. However, in the interest of good publicity (if you will) they should take it back. Now if he still has the paperwork, does that mean you haven’t signed all of the contracts or put down the required money down. If that is the case, then don’t sign anything more and they don’t have a contract.

Q: Should i buy a alfa romeo 147 GTA?
i have recently inherited 50K. i have already bought a skyline R34 and im wondering if i should spend 30k 0n mods for the skyline orBuy a Alfa 147 GTA and have a holiday or something.

http://images.google.co.uk/images?gbv=2&svnum=10&hl=en&q=Alfa+romeo+147+GTA

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.jsp?searchform=&modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&photo=1&state=none&sort=5&hassearched=Y&make=ALFA+ROMEO&min_pr=500&source=0&model=147&max_pr=35000&miles=1500&agerange=&mileage=&postcode=YO21+1EW&bodyid=0&fuelid=0&colour=&transmissionid=0

A: Alphas can be notorious when it comes to engines. you really need to treat them with kid gloves and make sure that you change the oil regularly or they could pop.

The alpha is also front wheel drive no its a bit “safe”.

personally, if i had your money, i would look at a Pontiac GTO or a good 1970’s Ford falcon which you can import from Australia. The gto is uber cool, and will have a 5 or 6 litre v8 under the hood. The falcon (which resembles the dukes of hazzard) will either have the 4.2 or 5.7 litre v8 under the hood. Both are quality cars. Both are real head turners and fairly rare. best of all the falcon will be right hand drive and a doddle to drive.

PS. have a holiday any way m8. otherwise the winter is too long

Q: how much would it cost to own and run and maintain an Aston Martin DB9 per year?
if i were to buy this car-

if i were to buy it how much would it cost me every year to maintain and run. include insurance, tax, fuel, repairs and everything.

here are my stats-
age – 35
driving for – 10 years
i drive around 20000 miles a year.
insurance to be the highest because i have had many accidents and i am living in an urban area.
if anything else is needed, take an average of it.

i earn 30000 pounds a year and my wife earns 30000 pounds a year. so that 60000 pounds a year on total. we spend about 25000 pounds a year on living (electricity, food, water, you know what i mean).
a year we would save about 35000 pounds. would that be enough.

A: it would cost about 6,000,000 pounds

A: If you have to ask………….

Q: I am still in shock that she even asked me?
My 28 year old sister in law lives at home with her mother. She is a single mother of a 12 year old and works at a local home improvement store. She states that with child support she makes $35000 a year. She has no expenses other than a monthly utility payment and food for her and her child. She is $60,000 in credit card debt and filing bankruptcy next month. This weekend she went looking for a new car, as hers is 10 years old and the transmission is about to blow. Instead of trying to get a reasonably priced used car she sought out a brand new 2010 Toyota Corolla. Her credit score is pretty good, about mid 600’s but with her debt to income ratio she was told she needed a cosigner to get the car?! Guess who she called to ask to cosign?

What shocks me is that we have very little contact with her. She doesn’t come to visit us (she lives 15 minutes away), she never calls to ask about her brother or her 16 month old niece. The only time she calls is when she wants something. Anyway, I know I did the right thing refusing her but can you believe that this it is her mentality to think that I would even consider putting my credit in jeopardy when she has already proven herself irresponsible with money?

A: Good job on telling her NO.
My sister and her husband have been asking me over and over to co-sign on a HOUSE with them! Their income is too low to get approved on their own, and they say they don’t need any money from me, just my help in getting approved because my income and credit are pretty good.
The way I see it is that if you can’t afford it, you should not buy it. The bank says no for a reason.
He seems to be upset with me but OH WELL. I am 26 and unmarried, hoping soon to get married to my b/f and buy a house so we are trying to save up for that. Like I am going to take the risk of ruining my future before I’ve even gotten started for them.

Q: My wife wants me to buy an Audi a6 but i could afford a used 911?
I need a new car and looked at an a6 which in my spec comes to about £35000 but my local porsche dealer has a lovely used 911 carrera for a similar price. which should i get, and how do i convince her that a 911 is practical – the kids can go in her car….
my wife has a land rover discovery – which is more than big enough

A: Ditch the wife, buy the Porsche!!

Q: Help needed in Buying Used BMW M3?
Hello All, I am planning on buying a used BMW M3 and I have a couple deals right now and would like to ask you people which one is better and what are the pros and cons.
1. 2005 M3, SMG, coupe, 20K miles – $38000
2. 2003 M3, Manual, Hardtop convertible, 55k miles – $28000
3. 2004 M3, Manual, coupe, 24K miles – $35000
I always wanted to buy a hardtop convertible but then the miles scare me on that car. How much would an extended maintenence warranty cost me for upto 100K?
And also the third car owner states she has maintenence warranty untill Nov 2008 & full service warranty untill 2010. What is this service warranty???

Someone please help me here.. Also note.. I live in a place where it snows for 4 mons in an yr & I have a luxury sedan to drive in that period. and this will be my second car for fun.

And also what are the main things I need to be looking / checking for before buying such a costly sports car. how abt the tires ??? please help.& also my budget is around 35K

A: I have an 02 with 63K on it. Still feels, looks, and drives like new. It’s all in how well it’s taken care of. Oil changes are every 15,000 miles, or annually, whichever is first. For me it’s annually. Oil is about $9 a quart, 7 quarts, plus filter cartridge. There is only one kind of oil it can take. Castrol TWS motorsport 10W-60.
Rear tires are every 15000 miles also. Fronts maybe 25000 if you’re lucky.
If it were me, I’d go for the 2004. Not a convertible, and not SMG are my reasons. Mileage is not a consideration unless it’s really high. Do not drive in snow. You already have that covered. Good. I’m sure the car would do just fine if it sat higher, and didn’t have 40 series tires on it. I put wider tires on mine, so they’re 35s in the back now, even worse.
SMG is great for a track, but regular driving I prefer the manual. Not sure what shift by wire means, unless he was referring to the SMG, because the manual stick goes straight into the gearbox, no wires, no linkage really other than the stick.
Don’t worry about repair costs, mine has cost very little, if at all. Inspection 2 is every 30000 miles which means all three are about due, at a cost of ~ $1500. Only #3 might be free because of the maintenance warranty. Mine has had two of them already, both covered by the maintenance warranty, which is now expired. Oh and gas mileage, officially it was listed as 16/24. I have never seen 16, and get more than 24 on every fill up. I average 25 all the time, don’t know how high it would be highway only, I’m thinking over 30, as I’ve gotten 28-29 on long highway trips myself, but I wasn’t going 55 which is how the EPA tests I think. 25 is really good for 333 HP in my opinion. I don’t drive with a light foot either.

Mine is for sale, $26000 if you’re near Denver, with lots of later model retrofits like Sirius, MP3, LEDs, front strut brace, etc. It’s a wonderful car and I’m having a hard time deciding to sell it. I love BMW 6 cylinders, but I also test drove a new one and love it too. So if someone says they’ll buy it, I guess I’ll let it go.

edit:
Mr. Fred, I don’t know why you are calling me out on my answers, but allow me to explain so that the original question asker isn’t confused by your remarks. Not trying to continue a “pissing match”, but I feel since I am right, I must explain. I am providing examples of what I have seen and what I do to my E46 M3, to provide information related to the question.

As I said, I OWN an E46 M3, I drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it. I know what BMW insists is the right oil, and it is not 15W-50, I have the service bulletins, and the sticker under the hood specifying use only the oil I stated. You can go to Walmart if you like. Inspection 2 is more than a simple fluid check. It includes a valve adjustment, which is why it is so expensive. As I stated, I have not paid for one yet, but I know what the dealer would have charged. I changed my tire widths because I was doing track days. See my avatar? That’s me. That has nothing to do with anything though, I was simply stating that it is no good in the snow, even worse with wider tires. And there is no wire or cable for the transmission, it’s not a transaxle. I’ve been under the car and changed the oil on the transmission with- well I’ll just say it wasn’t from Walmart. I would think that an owner of an E46 M3 can speak the truth about what oil to use and what maintenance costs better than an E36 owner. I wouldn’t tell an E92 owner that they don’t know what they are talking about after owning if for 6 years. When I turn my key on, the service indicator says 15525 miles to next oil change after I just did it. Explain that. It counts down mile for mile unless the engine is cold or being driven hard, at which point it counts down faster. BMW wants it in for an oil change every year if you don’t get to the 15000 miles. I’ve had this car for 6 years, I think I know how to change the oil and what the service guys at the dealer have told me. And since I own this car and fill it up on a regular basis (with premium) I know what kind of mileage it gets, you are guessing.

Q: 2008 Subaru sti body parts fit on same year wrx ?
i am a 16 year old looking for my first car, i really want a 2008 sti because i like how it looks with its fender flares and all the outside styling, my question is will the body parts from a Subaru sti fit on a wrx, i would really rather jus buy the sti but i don’t have $35000 for a used one and with 305 hp will probably result in my death because im already putting crawford performance parts on it, which will boost horsepower…
Honestly i don’t know what the amount of answers and questions i’ve had, have to do with anything, yes i am 16, and yes my parents are willing to pay up to around 30 000 canadian dollars for this car, i want the wrx because it has less horsepower then the sti but i still want it to look like an sti that is why im asking….

A: Body part answer = yes.

Other engine performance, not sure if you can handle it.

Q: BMW 750i not driven for 15 years…what could go wrong?
Hello there,

I saw an ad for a rarely used BMW 750i with only 35000 KM mileage. The guy was selling it for about 10,000 dollars and he said it was rarely used and was parked in the garage for 15years.

My question is that if you buy a car like that, even if its in a good pruning condition. What problems can i expect in the future? Electrical problems , engine problems etc.

I think this was a V12 car….so what is your input?

A: First of all, it’s well known that not driving a car doesn’t mean that the car remains in good condition. Sitting around collecting dust is bad for a car.
Add to that the fact that BMW is the most expensive brand of car to keep on the road and you have a reciepe for disaster.

I’d prefer an SUV.

A: Subaru Imprezza 2.5 RS, non-turbo so that it has less chance of having been abused by the previous owner.
Subaru Outback
Subaru Legacy
Mitsu Outlander
Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner/Mazda Tribute–this would be my choice as both the Duratec and Zetec engines are excellent.
Honda CR-V
Suzuki Vitara

Too many options to list really. Are you wanting a car, truck, suv, or xuv?

Also consider a Jeep Liberty.
You could probably even find a Jeep Patriot that is 1yr old or so for that.

Q: What is the sexiest best lookin SUV?
No American made SUVs or cheap imports like Toyota or Honda. I like the infiniti fx but ppl say it’s a womnes car for wives.
Q: which car will be the best to buy for a 16 year old?
Hi guys wats up. i just turned 16 and my said i can buy a new car under 45 grand so i have it narrowed it down to three choices. A 2008 BMW 336 Xi sedan, 2009 infiniti g37x sedan, or a 2009 lexus IS 250 or 350. the BMW is one year used with 10000 miles one it and is 34000. The infiniti g37 is 35000 and it is new while the lexus is 28000 grand with 20000 miles one it. Of course my dad isnt payign all of it i have to pay at least 5000 dollars on it or the down payment. So im wondering which car i should get. Always how much will the down payment be and monthly payment would be. the car is gonna be under my dads name who has good credit and owns a s550 and has a rl under his name so if you guys could just tell me the down payment that would be great.

anyways please spare me the your too young to drive these cars or you’ll crash them . and please don’t call me a spoil brat because ill tell you im far from being spoiled. so please a straight up answer thank you

A: Man, i’m 16, and i wish i was you! being spoiled aint a bad thing

Forget the infiniti, it’s kind of an older person car, not a youth oriented car.

between the lexus and the bmw, its hard.
the lexus is far more reliable and is less expensive to fix/repair
but on the otherhand, the BMW will be a much funner car to drive (compared to both the is250/350) but isn’t reliable nor cheap to fix. if you got money, i would say the BMW.

BUT, if i had that kind of money, i would check out the BMW 335d, its a diesel version and gets awesome MPG. and also check out the new audi A4, it has a lot better features than the BMW.

Q: Questions about college and Purdue?
I have decided to go to purdue university in west Lafayette the first thing is is there anything i should definitely know or check out, the next would be about bikes, it is a large campus with 35000 students the question is how many use bikes and what is the main cause for the stolen bikes r they just left unlocked so someone can easily take them the next question would be about cars and what to do and where to park im not quite sure on that issue, and the finally question would be about knives the school says no weapons but a knife is a tool in my eyes, they also do not list knives under the dangerous weapons list, but the list says weapons are not limited to it you dont have to answer all the questions just some would be helpful and much appreciated

A: Things you should definitely know or check out: hmm… I guess there’s nothing really I can think about, but feel free to email me if you have a specific question

How many use bikes?: there’s quite a few people that bike (when it’s nice out), and as long as you have a bike lock most likely your bike would be fine. What I would suggest though is going to target or walmart and getting a bike that’s only like 50 dollars. my roommate last year did that, and it’s probably a good thing cause her bike got stolen at the end of the semester (i think she forgot to lock it though). I personally don’t have a bike. the dorms are relatively close to campus and i don’t mind walking. Also I’ve heard of people stealing the bike seats, or cutting the locks…

Cars: if you’re a freshman living in the dorms you’re not allowed to have a car. you can fight for a parking spot on Russell or Waldron St., but you can’t always get those since everyone fights for them.

Knives: you can’t have knives in the dorms, but if you carry a pocket knife, probably no one will care (it’s not like they search the dorms unless they have due cause to).

so hope that helps you a bit

Q: Entry level FWD or AWD luxury car under $35000 that seats 4?
I’m looking for an affordable luxury car. Currently I like the Acura CSX with the tech package – which seats 4, is FWD, has USB and aux connectors, voice actived GPS/trip computer, moon roof and leather interior – which only costs $33000. I dont care much about horse power, as long as it has the same or more features as the csx for less or the same.

A: Acura TSX=Very reliable and a great choice.
Acura TL
Infiniti G35x or G37x(x signifies AWD)
BMW 3 series x(x signifies AWD)
Mercedes C class 4-matic(AWD)
Lexus IS AWD

Realistically, most of these cars with the AWD option are hard to get for $35,000, but it is possible.

The Acura TSX and TL are the best bets.

Where I live in the U.S., your Acura CSX is known as the Honda Civic and Acura RSX.
So the TSX and TL name might be different where you live.

Q: I am looking for my first car it can be under 35000 What do you prefer?
I want a car that is fast and have good mileage do you have any cars in mind. I am 6′0” and a male. Thank you.

A: I have owned and prefer to drive roadsters. Though I enjoyed the Boxster and the BMW Z car for their strong attributes, staying comfortably under the 35000 (if your talking dollars) mark would be best done in a powerful ragtp from Honda.

I own a 2002 S2000 that rocks. while the steering is not as tight as the Z car, the torque is greater than the Boxster. It is easy to get those rear wheels cranking, as the redline is 9000. That V-tech rocks around 6000-7000 rpms. It’s a must have.

Mine is black with some minor upgrades. The only encouragement I would give when it comes to a stereo is take it to a specialty shop. The dash controls for the radio will only work if done right.

Good luck!

Q: What sports car is under 35000 dollars and is front or all wheel drive?

A: Mits. Evo
Subaru WRX
Cobalt SS
Saturn ION Redline
Saturn SKY – rear wheel drive, but under 35, well worth it
Pontiac Solstice GXP – same as Saturn SKY, but looks aren’t up to par.
Dodge Neon SRT4
Honda Civic SI
A used Pontiac Grand Prix GXP – 8 cylinders, front wheel drive. Bad motha jammer.
A used Chevy Monte Carlo SS – same as Grand Prix GXP

Just about every single one of those will put your head in to the back of your seat. Most of those can carry 4 passengers at neck breaking speeds.

Q: is the mitsubishi evo the best car under 35000?
i want a high performance car, and i want it at a good price the evo seems to be the best choice, but i just wanted other peoples opinions

A: theres also the 350Z, cobalt SS (20000 starting approx.) Mustang GT, and mazda miata. all of these can be had, fairly nicely equipped, for under 35000, or, in the case of a full treatment mustang, about 2000 over. get an evo MR XIII or IX, little more cash, for a LOT more fun, if you wanna stay with mitsu. just stay away from honda, PLEASE.

Q: What is the best luxury/speed car you can get for 35000 or under?
I am trying to decide what car i would like, and im looking for a car that has speed but luxury as well. Please give me your preferances.
Does anyone no if the charger is good?

A: the charger is a great car. At that price you should have no problem getting the R/T fully loaded hell im sure you can find a dealer with a couple of SRT-8’s on the lot brand new from last year and get it at that price. 6.1 liter hemi producing 425 horses you cant beat that. It has the speed and it is luxurious but if you want the ulimate in luxury without giving up the speed look into the chrysler 300C or SRT8. Very nice car on the inside and outside. I would go with that.

Q: What would you suggest for a fast car for a 22 year old guy? That would be a daily driver too, no supercars.?
A car thats under $35000. Im not saying these but for examples vr4, sti, gto, TA ws6, srt-4, etc… Also I would mod the car a bit too. Any suggestions are fine too. Oh also no auto cars, i am looking for a 5 or 6 speed manual.

A: Mustang GT if you want a new one. It’s under $35K and can run 13s with a few mods.

A used GTO with the 6.0 LS2 is a good choice, too, if you can find one. Same for a Camaro or T/A with a 5.7 LS1. You get a solid axle in the Camaro/TA which is better for drag racing but the GTO has a totally useable back seat and more HP stock. The GTO engine bay is also easier to work in.

The Subaru STI and Mitsu Evo are serious performers but cost more to wring extra performance out of.

Q: have 2006 toyota corolla srx and the service enginge light is on. 35000 miles. Ideas?
When the car is cold it makes a noise from the under center of the car. it goes away when it gets warm. any ideas?

A: Basic bumper to bumper warranty on the car still in effect, bring it into a Toyota dealer asap, because it is close to expiring,3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first.

Q: What sort of car should i get?
I live in QLD Australia, and i want to trade my car in. I want something fast, not too big, and nice to look at. Im wanting second hand or ex demo model, under $35000. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

A: Go forth and get yourself one of the last V8 Interceptors.

I hope you got that or else I look like a total douche.

I so out on touch with what you guys have available there. I’d go with one of those cars that’s Aussie market only.

Q: what is the best/fastest everyday car that…..?
i could drive around towwn fine, then take or the highway and tear it up….but under 35000 fully loaded

A: BMW M5 or an Audi RS6. Massive class, effortless speed and huge capability on all kinds of road.

Q: Under $15k, under 35k miles, AWD, suggestions?
Help me find an AWD vehicle that’s under 15000 dollars and has less than 35000 miles on it. (Obviously will be a used car lol)

Q: What car should I get for my girlfriend?
I am going to need to sell my Skyline R34 GTR V Spec II (don’t worry I have a Alfa 147 GTA)
It needs to be able to fit 2 kids in the back

Maybe a Lexus IS 250 or Mazda RX8 (2008 Models)

Under NO circumstances can it be a hybrid

Any other suggestions

Budget = 35000 pounds

No Honda accords they are for Old people

A: I love it when people say Accords are for old people. I drive an 05 Accord EX V6 coupe with 6 speed M/T. It has 240hp right now, and I have smoked several RX8’s on the highway, and from a stand still I always smoke my friend in his IS250 (granted it has the smaller of the two engines). Also I am getting a Comptech Supercharger kit soon, and after that I will be able to keep up with 90% of cars on the road. Not only does the VTEC engine have more than adequate power, my car also has heated power leather seats, navigation system, touchscreen controls, dual climate control, LED guage display, dual exhuast, 17″rims, power moonroof, etc etc. I do not think you can find an RX8 that is as comfortable as an Accord. BTW the 2008 has 270+ HP, the 2008 RX8 has 212HP, which is the same figure as my torque in my Accord. Also Mazdas are built like shit.
I would definitely reccomend the Lexus, it is a beautiful car, has plenty of power, and the AWD version is very nice. It is built to last, unlke the Mazda.
Other suggestions: Lexus IS 350
BMW 335i or 335ix (sedan or coupe)
BMW M3
Lotus Elise
Ford Shelby GT500
Subaru WRX STi
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO
VW R32
Volvo S60R
And if you are Mazda fan, the Speed6 and Speed3 are both faster than the RX8.

Q: favorite car?
under $35000 new

A: Under $35000 Chrysler 300C

A: I would definitely go with the BMW. Best cars in the world!

Cheers!

Q: What is the coolest car for under $25000?
I want decent fuel economy, power, reliability. I’m considering a 2006 Monte Carlo SS. They have 303 hp, 28 mpg hwy. I hear they have pretty good quality too. What do you think about the coming Dodge Challenger? Does anybody have any news on when they will actually be out? Last I heard it was just “sometime in the next few years.” I’m mainly interested in a small car with good mpg that has more than two seats. It has to be pretty cool looking unlike the Toyota Yaris or something like that. Thanks.

A: Well the Nissan Sentra Se-R V spec is a nice compact. It has good gas mileage and at only 2700 lbs the 175 hp allow it to go from 0-60 in less than 5 sec. In regards to the challenger, its expected to come out in late 2008 or early 2009

Q: What car under $25,000 is good for racing?
My dream car is a mustang GT500. But I can’t afford one yet, what is an overall good, fast, and powerful car that is under $25000.
It can be new or used.

A: If you are looking new, check out the MazdaSpeed 3 Sport, which starts at about $23,500.

Same horsepower as the Cobalt SS mentioned above and twice the reliability.
Plus, it will hold its value better.

Before I bought mine, I test-drove the Cobalt SS, Civic Si and Subaru WRX.
The MazdaSpeed is the best value for the money.

Q: What is the best car you can get for under 25000? i mean sports cars like mustangs also best gas mileage ?
25000 us dollars

A: Dude, think i know what you want and that should be the all new Dodge Challenger, if you don’t want that same Mustang you see on the street yourself, dodge challenger a super car if i may say, will rival those boys with mustang to the challenge…

and i like to add this, we need to embrace a change in what emissions is doing on planet earth and it begins with you.

Q: what is a good sporty car for under $25000?
a car that can seat 4 adults
it can be a two door or a four door car

A: Mitsubishi Lancer Gs

Q: Best car for a 17 year old girl?
im 17 n im looking for some car. I can afford a car under 25000 pounds. i really like mazda mx-5 but idk which car is the best.what do u think of mazda mx-5 ? should i buy it? if not what car should i buy?

A: Whatever fits your budget, I’d reccommend something small.

Q: what is the best car you can get for under 25000?
i mean sports cars like mustangs also best gas mileage
25000 us dollars

A: eclipse

Q: whats a good car to buy for under 25000?
im 16 and am getting my licence in september… i have been doing construction and hard labor for quite a while and have alot of moneys, i am currently employed at a fast food restaurant comming up with $700 a month no bills on my tab so its all raw money.

im looking for something girls like and isnt impossible to live with

here are some of my taste…

evo x
mercedes c300
bmw 5 series
nissan 350z
mazda rx8

and if you have anything in mind please let me kno b4 i make a huge mistake in life

A: I would say to look at the used car lots. I just got a sweet deal on a dodge durango. its a 2006 with 14,000 miles, leather inside, heated seats and the hemi engine and 4X4 only cost $18,000. I saw the perfect car up there for a boy your age. It should get you plenty of action. a 2008 dodge charger R/T daytona edition ( limited number produced, special paint job, best stereo system and navigation, leather basically fully loaded) it had less than 3,000 miles and they were asking $19,900 i gotta figure a 16 year old with a 350 horsepower car thats fully loaded would be great for you. At your age and how much money you have to play with it would be best to find a car that is 1-2 years old with not alot of miles on it that way you can still get something very nice and fast but with it being 1-2 years old the insurance wont be as bad as a new one.

Q: car financing???your help will be earnestly appreciated?
hi there. i have been in the united states for the last 4 years and have been using 3 of my credit card for the last 3 years and thats when i opened my first bank account. i am dependent on my parents. i have been extensively using my credits for the past years and was never late with my payments and moreover my credit card always had a negative balance as i was paying excess money all the time. currently i only own 2 credit cards from two different banks. i wanted to check my credit score couple of days back as i am planning to buy a new car under my name. i found out my score to be 785. also i carry a good account balance on both of my banks checking account. currently i dont have any job. and i have heard that the loan lenders looks at my current income to issue me a loan. i will also put a big down payment while buying the car. so i wanted to know even after having a good account balance, good credit score, big down payment will i still be able to get a car on a 25000 loan?
will i be able to get a low interest loan just by showing huge amount of CD

A: you should be able to get it assuming you make at least $1500 approx a month. good luck and have fun!

Q: What type of APR on a car loan should i receive with new credit?
I am currently shopping for a new used car, something under 25000 miles, and i was wondering around what kind of percentage rate i should expect to receive. The car i want will cost 19000 and i plan to put a down payment of 3-5000 down. I have no to new credit built and i just want to know what to expect in my APR so i dont take a loan that is too high. Is it even worth looking at a loan at this point or should i only take on one if its absolutely neccecary? I am also a private in the military and married. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

A: Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: fastest car u could by used or truck for under 25000?
i want a car that does zero to 60 fast but is used and is under 25000 dollars from waht i have seen dodge ram cummins turbo desial kick every car trucks but 0 to 60
ps a dodge viper vs dodge ram 3500 cummins 0 to 60 the viper gets its ass handed to by a truck lol u cant beleve everything u see but wow

A: these cars are pretty fast, and are below 25 grand:
2004-2006 Pontiac GTO
2000-2006 Honda S2000
2004-2008 Mazda RX-8
last gen Nissan 350z
1990-1996 Acura NSX
2003-2005? BMW M3
Mazdaspeed 3
VW GTI
last gen Dodge Ram SRT-10
Chevy Trailblazer SS
Chevy Silverado SS
last gen Chevy Z06
1997-2001? Porsche Boxster
Subaru WRX or prev gen STI
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

Q: how to get out of a car loan?, dealer fraud?
i just bought a used car about 2 weeks ago, the car loan was about 25000 dollars total, they told me they would give me 2000 dollars for my trade in car, but now that i look back on the documents they only paid off the car loan and gave me nothing for the car. Also i wasnt able to get the loan so they told me if I cosign and If i make all the payments on time I can refinance the car under my own name within 6 months. I called the bank that i financed the car from and they told me i wasn’t even a cosigner. Last, the bank changed amount of money my friend made a year on the application so they could get the loan through.. What can I do about this?

A: Wow, a local dealer was shut down for this kind of stuff. Like all the way out of business.

Contact your local area BBB and see if they can direct you.

Q: Best car under $25000?
What is the best new or used car under $25,000 above the year 2003?

A: I’d say the Scion tC, brand new. You can get it for 17K and add some goofy, pointless bells and whistles if you want, because it comes fully-loaded. It’s an awesome car, esp for the money. And Toyota quality, to boot.

Q: Best two-seater under 25000 (New or Used)?
What are the best current cars, that fall into that category. If it is used, anything under 30,000 miles is good.

A: Corvette

Q: Most fun car under $25000??
What do you guys think is the most fun car to drive that costs under $25,000 new or used. I’m looking for something with a manual transmission and good gas mileage. So far I like used BMW 3-series and used VW Jetta GLI 1.8t

Q: What’s the best family car to buy in Australia?
We are a family of 5, 2 kids are in boosters and the third in a baby seat. We are in the need of a car that has 7 seats although I’m not keen on anything too big. At the moment we are looking at Mazda MPV, Toyota Klugar, Honda Odyssey, Ford Territory. Has anyone got experience with these cars and can give me some advice or can recommend something else? We are only looking at used cars that are under $25000. Thanks in advance.

A: Ok you would be wise to buy a 7 seater as even a large sedan wont fit 3 baby seats in the second row.

- The Mazda MPV with the 2.5L V6 with a four-speed automatic was considered underpowered, you are best to buy a 2002+ model with the 3.0L & 5-speed auto, this will also be more more fuel efficient. These are regarded as one of the best people movers, especially for the price. This model has been discontinued by Mazda in many markets including Australia. Find out about parts costs from Mazda.

- Toyota’s are always a safe best as they are reliable and very popular and you will reap the benefit of depreciation now that there are used examples. Get a 2004+ model with a 5-speed auto.

- The Honda Odysseyis well built and reliable like most Honda’s and look nice for a people mover, but again are considered underpowered. These have an excellent interior and should stand the test of time.

- The Territory is a great car overall, with sedan like handling and a smooth drive…but very thirsty on fuel!

Best advice is to go and see them all and test drive them to see which suits you best.

Also look at the Mitsubishi Grandis as another option.

Good luck.

Q: What car can I get, under $25000, when I go to a rich high school?
I’m 16 and my parents want to buy a third vehicle, I wont own it, but I do have some say in what they get. They want to spend under/around 25000 and have at least okay mileage. It can be either used or new, I really don’t care either way but I go to a really rich school where all the guys have a truck (texas) and all the girls have “barbie cars” and anyone who doesn’t has a sports car.
I definitely don’t want a truck or a barbie car, and I’m much more about attitude than how expensive the car is. Any Ideas?

A: All I can tell you for advice is…. I work for a small private bank, where a low income family, would make a million per year… the most popular customer car isn’t a Bentley, or a Porsche, it’s a three year old gold colored honda accord, or a 3-4 year old white taurus station wagon….really rich people don’t buy cars to impress, but wannabees do….

Q: Is it wise to sell my car now?
I have a 2005 Civic Coupe DX with about 25000 miles on it. I still owe about $12000 on the 7 year old payment plan. Should I sell my civic and pay off the loan? I have seen some used cars under $2500. I am a student. I use the car to commute to and fro from work and school. I drive about 210 to 250 miles per week, if I go to school/work everyday. Is selling my car a wise decision? Since it is a coupe with no power windows, do you think I should trade now? Or keep the car for another ten years etc?

A: Civics have a great record for reliable cars. You’ve already paid the upfront interest, so I would keep the car and drive it til it dies. A $2500 car is just that, eventally in a year or two it will need some repairs. Why not keep the car you know works, as it will save you money in the long run as long as you keep up the maintance on it.
If you have the money to pay it off, or make a little extra payment on it I would to help pay it down quicker.

Q: Is the Lexus LS430 the best automobile under $25,000?
I am planning on spending no more than 25000 on a car, new or used and I’ve heard the Lexus LS430 is hands down, the best car made. Any suggestions or recommendation?

A: That’s a great car, no doubt about it, buy a pre-certified one and you’re golden, man. That car is so damn quiet it’s nuts.

Q: BEST LOOKING Car?
What is the best looking car out there NEW OR USED for under 25000 that wont run my bank drive for insureance?

A: I would get a 2007 Toyota Camry SE V6 gets good gas mileage, its fast, and very nice looking.

If you want a more sporty car i would go with a 2003 or 2004 Ford Mustang Cobra coupe supercharged 390hp, gas mileage not to good, but very cool looking.

Q: What would the best car to buy?
I am just out of college and I need to get a new car new or used… Fuel efficiency would be cool but the looks of the car and performance are more important to me. Something like an Audi A4 (used of course) would be ideal. Budget is under $25000

A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: a new car?
i am wanting a car that is luxirious. sporty. but looks nice and everything but has strong power under the hood. id like it to be newer. and under 25000. its can be used, but i want something to impress friends when they see it and ride in it, but also when i put it to the floor. any ideas?

A: wash ur car daily in the morning & clean the seats daily it will impress ur frnds…………………

Q: Doge man, Tell me more about lemon law?
I bough the car at a used car lot it had 24000miles,pre owned certifiewarrenty and extended gold warenty from a compine throught the carlot. the other day oil came out of the bottom of the car (not a hole from damage to the oil tank). I took it to an authorized dealership/service for doge, it is covered under factory warranty up to 36000 miles it has 27211 on it now. The dealership told me that the camshaft had play in it and broke it so the engine needs to be replaced. the new one will not be their till Tuesday or Wednesday. The rent a car that the dealership told me to pick up, needs to be back on Monday??? That’s a whole other thing.. Dos the same problem needs to brake 3 times in order to do lemon law? Also will my new motor warranty start over or do I only get the difference in miles to the 36000..is the new engine warranty under mopo 2 year or 25000 miles what do you think???

A: I’m not doge (or even Dodge) man, but I will give you your answer. Lemon laws do not cover used vehicles. Lemon laws cover only new vehicles, and the laws vary by state, but generally you have to give the dealer the opportunity to fix the problem 3 to 5 times, and it has to be the same problem that they were not able to fix.

As to your third party warranty, read the contract you were given when you bought it. They may cover part or all of your expenses, but that has nothing to do with the lemon law.

Q: what new car under $25000 has the best stock base stereo system?
i am in the market for a new car and i really like music but i dont want to pay a lot for a good system so i would like to know which has the best base system.

A: Anything GM, they have Bose sound systems.

Q: What would the best car be under 25000?
Im 17 and looking into buying my first car and i need some ideas on a good yet cool car and ideas?

A: Well, for 25,000 you can buy either a brand new car or a used car. For a 17 year old, the selection of new cars is fantastic and will give you the car you want but the used car selection is even better. In the end it is your decision, but I think you will lean towards a new car. Here is a list of cars in your price range:

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Q: what is a fast car that is under 25000 ?
i want a really fast car, but dont have too much money, what cars are fast and what do u recomennd

A: …
look for a subaru Imprezza Sti. its got 300 stock horse power. and FYI, from 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds. and like the other guy said, it will snap ur head back. it has a SINGLE turbo.and u can simply buy a blow off valve for less than 500 bucks and the car will sound orgasmic….
it handles amazingly and not like other cars, it can actually turn a tight corner. just for ur info, the other crappy muscle car NOT turn in any corner. dont even try..
and they can be found used for around 20K..
its actually single turboed.
i had the car confused with a supra….

Q: Most fun car under $25000??
What do you guys think is the most fun car to drive that costs under $25,000 new or used. I’m looking for something with a manual transmission and good gas mileage. So far I like used BMW 3-series and used VW Jetta GLI 1.8t

A: I would definitely go with the BMW. Best cars in the world!

Cheers!

Q: what is a good sporty car for under $25000?
a car that can seat 4 adults
it can be a two door or a four door car

A: Mitsubishi Lancer Gs

Q: what is the best car you can get for under 25000?
i mean sports cars like mustangs also best gas mileage
25000 us dollars

A: eclipse

Q: What would be the most powerful care under $25000 that doesnt exceed 150-160 horsepower?
my parents will get me a car but there are some limitations, so i was wondering what the best type of car to get would be, please sedan answers only

A: A Civic or a Corolla would be a great car for you. You could also get a nice pre-owned, late model Camry or Accord for under $25k. Any of those would be great. If you don’t mind a 4-cylinder engine, and you don’t have to have every available feature (cruise control, power windows, etc.) on your car, you could get a new Camry or Accord in your price range.

Q: fastest car u could by used or truck for under 25000?
i want a car that does zero to 60 fast but is used and is under 25000 dollars from waht i have seen dodge ram cummins turbo desial kick every car trucks but 0 to 60
ps a dodge viper vs dodge ram 3500 cummins 0 to 60 the viper gets its ass handed to by a truck lol u cant beleve everything u see but wow

A: these cars are pretty fast, and are below 25 grand:
2004-2006 Pontiac GTO
2000-2006 Honda S2000
2004-2008 Mazda RX-8
last gen Nissan 350z
1990-1996 Acura NSX
2003-2005? BMW M3
Mazdaspeed 3
VW GTI
last gen Dodge Ram SRT-10
Chevy Trailblazer SS
Chevy Silverado SS
last gen Chevy Z06
1997-2001? Porsche Boxster
Subaru WRX or prev gen STI
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

Q: What is a very fuel effeicient car under $15000 preferably gets 30-40 city and 30-50 highway?
CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP ON GAS AND PURCHASE PRICE

A: There are so many options for you man…. if you want just straight up efficiency and don’t really care for looks then check out the Honda Fit, it looks very similar to the 2003 Civic Si or the Ford Focus Hatchback, it gets crazy MPGs. Like the person under me said, you can get a nice Toyota for mad cheap!!! I personally drive a 97 civic and it gets me about 27 city miles per gallon and because it has a small gas tank it only takes $30 to fill and that last me about a week maybe a week and a half. Good luck man, also, consider cars with small engines like the MINI Cooper

Q: your opinion. what is the best car for the price?
im looking for a car 15000 or cheaper.. something with alot of stock horsepower, maybe with a stock turbo, doesnt matter…but i would like to see everyones opinion and hopefully it will help me determine what im looking for.. so far the only ones that have caught my eye are the 03 cobra SVT which is 390 stock HP, which is probably impossible to find under 15000 dollars with descent miles…please let me know what you think, doesnt matter imported or american, just try and keep it under 15,000

A: I would try a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer starting at 13,990.

http://mitsubishicars.com/lancer

Q: 2001 Audi A6 2.7T quattro?
Im going to college next fall and im looking for a cheap reliable cars to buy.(under 15000) And it has to be cheap to keep up. I found a used 2001 Audi A6 2.7T quattro with 60000 miles and it costed 14000 dollars. Is that good or bad?

A: It’s bad, very bad. Why?
1) it’s a used car which is almost 7 years old.
2) for 7 y.o. car this car has a lot of miles on it. Be ready to start fixing your baby.
3) I wouldn’t pay more than 10 grand for it
4) it’s german car, germans are very expensive to fix
5) it’s quattro, which means 4-wheel drive. so it’s even more expensive to fix than a basic version
6) 2.7T – the engine is big (it’s 2.7 liters), besides that “T” I’m pretty sure means “Turbo” which means fast which means this car will be hungry for gas.
Audi are very good cars though. But if you don’t wanna open hood very often and visit bodyshops, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on gas, don’t buy it. And it’s too expensive, too. Wait till November, it’s the best time to buy a car cuz all dealerships try to get rid of car from last year and they bring prices down and can give you better deal because they desperately need to sell something. For $15000 you can get Honda Civic, i’d say 2006. it’s safe, good-looking, almost new, still on factory warranty (what is very importnant cuz any problems – they fix it for free) and it saves so much money on gas. You’ll be surprised. It’s top-rated car in it’s class. You can also get new Subaru Forenza which is “Ok” car or new Nissan Sentra, but Honda is better. Buy any car magazine and compare prices, + and -. if you find a car you like, but you think it costs too much, go online (ebay, carseller.com), find the same car in different area, even other state, but cheaper. Print out the info about it, go to dealership, find something you don’t like in the car you picked and show the the printout about another car. tell them: I like that car better and it’s cheaper and they are ready to give me better deal. I don’t think I wanna buy your car anymore. You’ll be surprised, but they will drop couple thousands off to make you buy their car. Good luck.

Q: used sports car under 17000 dollars?
My parents are wanting to buy me a car and I wanted to buy a Honda Civic Si Coupe 2008 or 2009 model (since 2007 and older models had that 3rd gear popping out problem) but 20000 is too expensive for them.

They want me to get the same regular Honda Civic for 15000 that my mom had. I hate that car period.

Is there a cool looking car like Honda Civic Si but cheaper? say… under 17000 dollars.
I am looking at Mitsubishi Eclipse GS but the horsepower it has is very similar to the Honda Civic and honestly I think its overpriced.

I appreciate your time

A: Old man dirt said it all:

MAZDA Miata MX-5

Best sports car for the money in North America.

Q: What is a good first car ?
Im a 16 year old male and im deciding to buy my first car in about a year and a half. Im wondering what to look for in a first car. Im looking for a nice looking car or SUV and something reasonably priced under 15000. I need your opinions on “cheap” eye catching cars. My mind is looking towards the 2006 Ford Mustang or 2008 Saturn VUE Red-line (something on those lines).

P.S. No two seated cars .. .. ..

Thanks In Advance

A: Honda Fit

Q: Does anybody know what a good sturdy, reliable and cheap to fix?
I understand there will be compromises i will have to make when getting a car. I am looking for an SUV. My parents said they would buy the SUV as long as it was sturdy and safe and inside of their 15000 budget. I know there are not many SUV new under their budget. They also said they would prefer to buy me a car from this century. I understand there really are not any new SUV’s under 15000. So does anybody know of any SUV with good reliability, stable, safe, and are easily found with low mileage under 15,000 dollars.

A: look around on line. You can get some really good deals on trucks and SUVs right now if you shop around. Finding a decent one for under 15k shouldn’t be a problem.

Cheap to fix is a different story. American cars seem to be cheaper to fix but some tend to need to be fixed more often. Don’t get the first production year of any model, they tend to have more problems while the manufacturers work out the kinks in the assembly lines and systems.

Q: best car for the cash?
Im going to buy my mom a newer car. She has a 2000 Grand Prix SE that she bough in 06′, for $6000 and it has had nothing but problems. The transmission is pretty much falling out, the eninge is overheating, its just a piece of junk. Everything is going wrong with it. She was overcharged and it was a lemon. I dont want her to make the same mistake again.

So my question is this, what would be a good car that is:

safe
reliable
cheap upkeep
low insurance
easy to find parts
very good fuel economy
and is known to be a good car/truck.

Thanks for the suggestions. It will have to be under $15000 and be availble in an automatic. Thanks!

A: look for a certified ford fusion or mercury milan. you should be able to find a 2006 for around 15K. check out the user reviews on yahoo autos. both very high ratings.

Q: 17…first car…jetta, bmw, or mazda eh?
1.) Jetta is 2005-2008, still under warranty $15,000-$19,000 under 25k miles

2.) Mazda 3,5, or 6. 2004-2008. still under warranty $8,000-$15000 under 25k miles

3.) Bmw 330 2003 with 48000 and no warranty but my fave car ever!!!!! $12,000-18000

1.) Which is cheapest or best on maintenance?
2.) What if i get extended warranty for bmw? I wont have to pay as much for parts….right??
3.) Which car is best in the long run?

Gas is not biggest concern because they are all pretty close. And my insurance is not over $150 on all 3!!! yay!!!

*Basically, I’m goin to college in the summer and leavin the fam and want a reliable car! So what is best HELP ME OUT!!! I GET CAR IN FEW DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

A: The Mazda’s are your best bet. VW’s are crap anymore, they haven’t made a quality vehicle in 2 decades, if you don’t believe me, take a look over in the VW forums… terrible cars. The BMW is nice, but could be hit or miss on reliability, and it already has 48k miles and is 5 years old…. sounds like a lot for a vehicle that could cost a LOT in repairs.
The Mazda’s are all pretty decent, relatively cheap on insurance.

Q: are new cars under $15000 considered bad and not for guys?
you know like chevy aveo, honda fit, toyota yaris, scion xd, honda civic, mazda 3 etc.. im not buying a car anytime soon but just wanted to know. what would be considered a guy car?

A: A guy that buys a car that he can afford would be considred as making a smart choice. Dont try to impress anyone, cuz nobody really cares what kind of car you drive. Today, its HOT to be green!

Q: What is a fast car under 15000 used?
Trying to look for a left hand drive, maybe turbo, and reliable.

A: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u&car_id=248739928&dealer_id=57285160&car_year=2004&rdm=1238252544187&model=350Z&num_records=100&systime=&make2=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&showZipError=n&make=NISSAN&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&seller_type=b&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=08879&advanced=y&end_year=2010&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=975&standard=false

this car is very good for performance driving. almost 300 bhp, and it handles like a dream. and it is also very reliable.

if i had 15,000 to buy a used car, this would definitely be the one that I would choose.

good luck!

Q: what are the best cars for under 15000 coupe or sedan?
i’m looking to trade my car in i was wondering what u thought the best car to get for under 15000 i travel 30 miles to work so something with good gas milage and reliable

A: Acura CL/TL Type-S or an Accord coupe. Both around 03 or so.

Q: best used car under $15000?
I have $15000 to spend on a used car from ebay. I like covertables and smaller, speedy-looking compact cars. What are the best options for me? Thanks.

A: -Mazda Miata
- Ford Mustang/Mustang Convertible
- Toyota Celica
- Honda S2000
- Toyota Solara Convertible.

good luck!

Q: a brand new car under 15000?
what kind of car can i get for under 15000 that is brand new? either 2007, 2008, or 2009. i already looked into the yaris, civic, fit, and lancer. are there any other ones? something that is good and will not give problems.

A: Try the new Hyundai Elantra. It was recently chosen by consumer reports as the small car of the year. All new hyundais come with a 100,000 powertrain warranty over 10 years, and a 5 year, 60K bumper-to-bumper warranty. I also like the mazda 3, or the ford focus.

Q: Brand new car under 15000?
what kind of car can i get for under 15000 that is brand new? either 2007, 2008, or 2009. i already looked into the yaris, civic, fit, and lancer. are there any other ones? something that is good and will not give problems.

(its someone elses question, but didnt have the helpful answers.)

A: You named some pretty solid options above, others include:

Nissan Versa- it is available in a 5 door hatchback or a 4 door sedan.
It is a good value. Good crash test ratings, however ESC (electronic stability control) is not available. This is a very important safety feature that can help you avoid accidents.

Scion xD- it comes as a 5 door hatchback, and has a lot of standard features as well as some pretty neat after market features, and gets excellent fuel economy. It also has good crash test ratings, and has optional ESC.

——————————–

The Kia Rio/Hyundai Accent also fit your budget, however I would not personally suggest them due to poor safety ratings. The Kia Rio comes in a 5 door hatchback and a sedan version. Accent comes as sedan only.

Chevy Aveo is under $15k, but it has received poor reviews in popular magazines like Consumer reports. It is available in 5 door hatchback
and sedan form.

If you/ your friend wants to take a totally different route- you/they may also consider Smart for Two. It fits the budget and it’s nifty looks will certainly attract a lot of attention, but it’s not very practical if you have a family.

Scion xD, Versa, Civic, and Lancer are all very safe, practical cars that fit your budget and will provide you years of worry free driving!

You will most likely be able to purchase a 2009 model of ANY vehicle mentioned above for under $15k, since the 2010’s are on the lots and dealers will want to get rid of their 09’s.
Best of luck!

Q: Best under-$15000 car for a college student?
I’m searching for a safe, reliable car that my son would like.

A: ANY Toyota should be good! (Or Honda) You may have to get one that is a year or two old, but they are extremely reliable and safe!

Q: what would be a good first car thats under $15000?
what would be a good car for me to get that is usually around 15000 or less used with not a lot of miles…im looking for either a coupe or sedan i hate wagons and dont really care for rag top convertibles the hard tops i dont mind and i also dont want an suv trucks are a maybe

A: $15,000 will buy you a whole lot of car.

The truth of the matter is that you can find a good, recent year, low mileage, high quality example of virtually any type of vehicle for that price, so you’re better-off choosing deciding upon the type of vehicle you want to buy before then pursuing a particular model because your menu is wide-open.

One thing you may want to consider is buying a new car; and there are several reasons why you should. First of all, a new car comes with a full bumper-to-bumper new car warranty. While some used vehicles include certain limited warranties, a new car will guarantee you no additional expenses beyond fuel, tires, and basic maintenance for a minimum of 3 years or 36,000 and up to 7 years and 100,000 miles if you choose to add an extended warranty.

A second important reason is the result of an unusual phenomenon resulting from the world’s upside down economy. Because people are hanging on to their cars longer rather than buying new ones and many people are turning to used cars as a way to save money, used cars have never been in shorter supply or greater demand than they are today. Add-in “cash for clunkers” literally destroying about 1/2 million more and the result is that they also cost more than they ever have, meaning they’re not the same kind of bargain they used to be.

http://www.mlive.com/auto/index.ssf/2009/11/economy_101_the_post-clunker_r.html

At the same time, manufacturers have never been more desperate to win new car buyers and dealers have never been more eager not negotiate. A dealer doesn’t have to worry about having to sell a used car to make room for next year’s model like he does with every new car. The result is that rebates have never been more favorable and dealers have never been more willing to negotiate, so new cars have never delivered more for your money (especially if you can find a 2009 model still on lots or a “dealer demo” that’s never been titled and is still considered new, but a manager may have used as his own “company car”. These can often be had for a relative steal.

So, there’s a bit of a “Perfect Storm” in terms of new cars being the best values they’ve ever been at the same time used cars have never been as unattractive. The result is… hang on to your hat… that some NEW versions of a vehicle are cheaper to buy than a used one. And before you think I’m just self-medicating again, it’s not me, but the good folks at Edmunds.com who’ve done the research to prove it. Have a look for yourself at:

http://blogs.edmunds.com/greencaradvisor/2009/03/some-new-cars-cheaper-than-used-now-hybrids-included-edmunds-study-finds.html

The third reason is also a result of the financial crisis. If you’ll notice, it’s barely 2010 and some 2011 vehicles are about to roll onto dealer lots. September used to be when next years’ models would appear, but that’s no longer true. Once the bottom fell out of the car market and GM and Chrysler were bailed out, they pretty-much faced a “make better cars or die” situation. And because every other company’s financial results were blown out of the water anyway, this was the year they didn’t have to worry about making their quarterly earnings numbers. Their only mission was to get their best products into showrooms NOW; and every vehicle from 2009 forward, even among most competitors who have had to compete, have been notably more well-equipped with better features, higher quality, and more powerful and economical power trains.

Here’s the final, and perhaps the very best, reason to consider a new car, or at least something to think about even if you buy a used one. You can certainly find new AND used vehicles within your $15,000 price range. However, if you aim just a little bit higher you can get a LOT more car for your money as you now enter the mid-size new car segment at about $17,000, including cars that might continue to suit your needs into your twenties. Even if you buy a used vehicle, there’s a certain wisdom in the fact that at a certain point, money you save up-front buying a cheaper car can wind up just costing you more in repairs later.

Either way, even if you don’t spend your entire budget, you should consider financing a few thousand dollars of your purchase, even if you have to pay interest. Doing so can help you establish strong credit early in your life; and if you can do so responsibly, it can be one of the single-most important things you can ever do for yourself. Just think about THIS… People with the best credit tend to pay the least for things because they pay the lowest interest rates. This means being able to take advantage of all the great 0% financing car offers which, even if you just stick the money in the bank instead at 2%, means you will be making free money. On the other hand, those with the worst credit can wind-up paying 20% interest for a car loan, and that’s if they can find financing in the first place. The difference over the life of a new car can double the price, not to mention costing even-more by forcing people to choose used vehicles without warranties that are more expensive to repair.

For the average consumer, and I’m absolutely NOT exaggerating, the difference between good and bad credit upon your lifestyle will have more of an impact than most college educations. I am DROP DEAD serious. If you can use this as an opportunity to build you credit, even if you don’t need to borrow the money, you absolutely should. And if it means giving your parents the money to hold and make your payments for you, DO IT. You will receive few pieces of better or more important advice during the rest of your entire life.

So, let’s put this theory into practical application with an actual car. This spring, Ford is bringing the 2011 Fiesta to North America. The Fiesta is a new car here, but it’s been Ford’s best selling car in Europe for almost a decade and one of Europe’s favorites. It’s simply a terrific car. Period. It’s attractive, extremely well-made, kick in the pants fun to drive, and terrific on fuel. And get this… the starting price (and this is the STICKER price, mind you) is $13,320. They go all the way up to $20,000 if you want bigger alloy rims, features like leather power seats, and an automatic transmission, but you can buy an EXTREMELY comfortably-configured vehicle for $15,000, especially when you consider the price’s I’ve mentioned are STICKER, not actual, prices. This is no “cheap” car… it’s a superb car that happens to be inexpensive. It even has the rockin’ Ford/Microsoft SYNC voice control audio and Bluetooth system. Have some fun getting acquainted with Fiesta here:

http://bp2.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/2011-Ford-Fiesta

If you want to see even more about it, you can read the blogs of 100 people Ford gave Fiestas to drive for 6 months during their two “Fiesta Movement” campaigns at:

http://www.fiestamovement.com and http://www.fiestamovement2.com

I’m not just going-on about Fiesta because it’s cheap. Other makers offer cheap cars too, but none are anywhere near as good a car as Fiesta happens to be, and it has years of incredible reviews and best-selling awards in Europe (where they really won’t settle for the kind off garbage that’s often sold in North America). In fact, Ford’s dirtiest little secret is that even when they were making lousy vehicles during the 80’s and 90’s (and even part of the 2000’s), they never stopped making vehicles like Mondeo, Fiesta, and Focus (an entirely different Ford Focus that will be replacing what’s currently made here for the 2012 model year) that’s another European best-seller and favorite. With other cars like the Chevy Aveo, Toyota Yaris, and so forth, you usually wind up regretting how little car your money bought. With Fiesta, you’d be absolutely amazed by how MUCH car you bought for your money.

No matter what car you decide to buy, please at least do yourself the favor of not simply choosing to buy a used car by default and take this for the tremendous opportunity it is to begin establishing a strong credit history that will pay you back with lifelong benefits even when you’re buying your 6th, 7th, and 8th new cars and you’re thinking about selling your home because your own kids have already moved out to go to college. And don’t just take MY word for it either. Do your homework and “run the numbers” yourself to see exactly which outcome will serve your interests best. It too is a skill that will serve you well throughout your life.

But just think about it… if, for your $15,000 (or perhaps just a little bit, but not much, more), you could own a brand new vehicle that would be free of ANY repair costs for at least 3 years and 36,000 miles (or up to 7 years or 100,000 miles by buying a $1,000 extended warranty), so dependable that your ability to go to school, work, or social functions would NEVER be in question, offer one of the best economy and safety ratings available, ALL while being an absolute kick in the pants to drive and providing you with the opportunity to establish your credit foundation for your entire lifetime, wouldn’t that be absolutely terrific?

The best news is that you can. Just make sure that if you DO choose to buy a used car, it’s a better value proposition than the best new car available that would serve your needs.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Q: The best bang for buck japanese import car for under 15000 or around there?
Hi I was wondering what is the best bang for buck stick japanese car for around 15000, no new cars please. For example: Rx7, R32,33 Skylines, Supras, STI, EVO,.. etc.. What are each ones major flaw compared to its competition and has the biggest aftermarket support? For normal daily driving.
I kind of like the S2000, but its pretty high rev compared to the others so a little more gas consumption to keep it there? please correct me if I’m wrong…. Thank you for your help!

A: Overall all the cars you have picked are really good cars.

The RX7 is a nice car and i will go for the last gen version,a nice car built to feel like a track race car and features a great tunable rotary engine, faults are the lack of room if carrying passengers, the over oil usage and check on a owners forum but engine does need some work at a certain mileage.

The Supra again i will go MK4 version a really nice car and a great engine which on the tt version is higher tunable to over 1000bhp nice aftermarket support and plenty of parts and kits, nice driving position fault is again the lack of room with no rear room for passengers and no trunk space.Check the automatic versions which are rapid and top drag versions run an auto and also the auto was sold with a higher spec than the manual versions. Also the j spec differs from other countries models.

The evo cover many gens and offers a nice 4 door roomy car mixed with rally handling and again a tunable engine with many parts and support and head turning looks.overall a nice car.

The sti myself a fan of the 90’s version great handling and a mass of aftermarket support and parts overall these cars are really good and have a lot to offer fault is the gearboxes and the bad image the car has of late with my friends whom have been Impreza owners for years and years selling theres due to this bad image.

The R32 Skyline comes as non turbo to single and twin turbo models, the R32 is a really light car mixed with RWD and AWD models and technology still not seen in most modern cars,it was joked when it came out it could launch people into space due to its technology, these cars are great sideways fun cars mixed with great handling and head turning looks,a mass of aftermarket support and engine parts the RB engines will see high bhp figures and the engines are hardcore, very roomy cars also with plenty of front and rear space and huge trunk space.
fun R32 vid

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1cDRbLk9HM&feature=PlayList&p=A70718F6C942FFE7&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=22

R33 again great cars power wise again a mix of engines as above and this time even a station wagon version out,The GTR models as above and with the R34 also where sold as running at 280bhp but where really sold at 330bhp an that is still detuned with actual running power of these at around 600bhp with stock internals and well over 1000bhp with further mods, the R33 is heavier than the R32 due to offering more room and having more safety equipment due to being newer than the R32,but there is a 2.0l version but this time the R33 features a RB25det engine which allows for the extra weight compared to the R32,overall feel of the R33 is not as nippy as the R32 around town but still nippy but on the straight the R33 now comes to life and feels more hardcore than the R32,the R33 was also the fastest production car around the Nurburg ring when it came out.HKS R33 Skyline owned the AWD drag record until being beaten by a R32 but the HKS is coming back to try to beat it.Again a mass of aftermarket support and a mass of parts. Also Nissan still stock parts down to the R32 on there shelfs.

As said all are great cars and non will see you wrong all cars need high octane fuel and compared to a hummer they get good miles but overall they drink fuel, but it is the curse of these cars.
Myself own Skylines and they do get a lot of attention sometimes bad but that is rare more often i get people taking pics and vids daily and people talking to me about the cars, they do cause a stir which is strange as it feels like you own a 250k car.Look at single turbo versions if you are on a budget as they offer great engines and great handling and never ending aftermarket parts.
I like all the other cars also and have been close to buying some of them over the years,my cousin had a RX7 and a Impreza to which i really like,my friend is on his second MK4 Supra,i send him to them as they where no good to us as we tried or kids in one a found no room for them,The Evo my friends own different gens.

Q: sports car under 15k?
im looking for a sports car under 15000$ any sugestions?
list of order of importance to me are…
1) get up and go *torque and hp*
2) mpg *would like something over 22*
3) ride comfort *cornoring, and bumps*

Q: What car should I get for my 16 for under 15K?
My dad is buying me a car for under $15000. He wants little gas mileage. I want a cute car that has good miles per gallon that is also safe. What should I get???
By the way, I have divorced parents, will be transporting siblings, and play lacrosse. so, i do need a car. no need to say i’m spoiled too. I know it, but have always been a hardworker, I have a 4.0 gpa and never have been given an allowance.

A: if you want good gas mielage stick to a civic they arent expensive and insurance rates are really low for them

Q: What are some of the best cars for a 16 year old kid?
I need a car that costs under 15000 (used), VERY reliable, runs well, and has good mpg.

A: depends on if you want to work on it yourself or modify like a ricer. PU trucks are the simplest of all the vehicles out there now to work on, they have a minimum of complex mechanics but unfortunetley they are now computer controlled and fuel injected. On the other hand a compact import by a good manufacturer will run forever if treated correctly

Q: what is a nice car for me that is under $15000?
hi im 16 years old , and im a guy , im looking for a used car that is under $15k and that is like a sports car and looks cool for my age

i do not wants trucks. please send me your advice with an estimate price

A: A 2009 chevy cobalt coupe starts at $14,900
A 2009 chevy cobalt sedan starts at $14,90

I personally like the cobalt coupe!

Q: Whats the best used car you can get for under 15000?
i have no car liesences yet i was wondering can i get a list of cars on what i can buy for 15,000 and under like a Mustang GT

A: Yes you can get an older GT for that.

Q: What is the fastest car that can be bought used for under 15000?
I am looking for a fast car made no earlier than 2003. Not looking for a mustang

A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
