Dear Editor: As I have walked = through life, I=20 have found that a person's perception is that person's = reality. Some view the glass as half full, and others = view the=20 glass as half empty.
Ethanol vs. dependence on = foreign oil=20 -- that is the reality of the situation.
Many ask = us if=20 there is enough corn to meet the demand for ethanol in = the=20 world. The United States Department of Agriculture has = estimated that the corn crop for 2007 will be more = than 14=20 billion bushels. The ethanol industry will require=20 approximately 2.3 billion bushels, or about 16 percent = of the=20 nation's corn supply, to produce an estimated 6.9 = billion=20 gallons of ethanol for 2007. The National Corn Growers = Association projects that ethanol demand and corn = supply will=20 continue on an even trend in the coming years because = of=20 increased corn yields made possible by genetic=20 improvements.
